I met Gordon Bell when I was 24 years old, and he was consulting a mutual friend who was running for our district’s Congressional seat. I was immediately engaged by Gordon’s charisma. Fast forward two decades, and I received an email from Gord asking to reconnect. He had just watched one of my television programs where I teach the Bible through stories of restoration in order to connect culture with Christ. We scheduled a late-morning appointment for hot chocolate.

God was moving in Gord, something I learned to be a common occurrence in his life. We connected on so many levels during our hot chocolate that we decided to keep talking at a nearby restaurant where we had lunch. I didn’t want the conversation to end.
